Ancient Temple
Modular Japanese temple environment created for sale on various 3D marketplaces (Fab, CGTrader, FlippedNormals, Gum Road... etc.). Release date TBD.
3D asset references were taken from various temples around Okinawa and Tokyo. This project required in-depth research into the construction and assembly of Japanese temple architecture and on-site laser scanning. Every piece was planned to fit into a modular grid for easy assembly in Unreal Engine. This was a collaboration between myself and Yuting Chen (link below). I was in charge of art direction, project management, budgeting, laser scanning, point cloud processing, modeling, sculpting, texturing, quality assurance and on-site research. Yuting was in charge of assets modeling, process research, sculpting and texturing. Yuting also handled scene assembly, preliminary lighting passes, and post processing for the test environment.
The entire environment consist of 20 models plus pre-assembled packed level actors. Each piece was hand crafted to match authentic ancient temples around Japan.(https://www.artstation.com/yutingchen1).
